The new E.P. consists of six songs inspired by Lottas and Måns friendship and the tooth of time, with echoes of Nick Drake, Laura Veirs, Bowie, Wilco & Bill Callahan.
Guests on the E.P. are Conny Städe (Ossler, First Aid Kit), Andreas Ejnarsson (Avantgardet, Ben), actor and musician Åsa Gustafsson and Nadia Hamouchi (Nina Persson, Magnus Uggla).
SINGLE RELEASE: FRIEND
Out 21 Nov 2022.
Friend by Blind Lake is the third single from the upcoming EP Wellness. It has echoes of Nick Drake & Big Star, a pretty and quiet folkpop meditation on love and friendship, recorded with slightly broken post-covid vocals and nylon stringed intimacy.
You find me in the water, you find me in the end.
Death will be your lover, love will be your friend.
SINGLE RELEASE: IN CONTROL
Out 16 Sep 2022
Our second single “In Control” from the upcoming EP is out!
In Control is a head on pop song with an acoustic drive. The song can easily be accoasiatied with older Jayhawks and Wilco-songs, but with the characteristic sound of a typical Blind Lake-song. Rythmic, melodic and with great harmonies.
The lyrics is about all of our attempts to seek control in our lives in order to avoid tipping over the edge to meaningless.
SINGLE RELEASE: SMOKE ROSE UP
Out 1 July 2022
The uneventful time of 2020, gave Blind Lake the pow er to start recording new material. A material that has now been formed into a forceful EP and where we now present the first single Smoke Rose Up.
At the end of the song Hendrix’s weapon bearer Mitch Mitchell reappears in the form of drummer Conny Städe (First Aid Kit, Staffan Hellstrand, Olle Ljungström). The experimental collage of harmonicas is played by Åsa Gustafsson.
Smoke Rose Up is a surreal & traditional 7/4 bar country folk song about Moses, gold in the mud and the importance of following your gut feeling
Some days I feel it, the sun, the sea & the ground. Love yourself out of it, dream yourself out of it.
